Bright Spark

This job I was called in because the back boiler had sparks coming from under the fire. The boiler was serviced last year so it can't be a big problem. The culprit can be seen on the top photo. But the main cause was the boiler had not been serviced for some years. The house owner said it had only been done 12 months ago, when this was done, nobody had ever picked up that the gas meter was not bonded.

You can check this yourself, you must have an equipotential bonding cable max 600mm from the outlet of your gas meter. If not contact a qualified electrician to check your wiring. This wont stop your boiler sooting-up but will comply to current I.E.E Regulations / British Standards that are in place for your safety.
