Killer boiler

I was called to a boiler that had been turned off by British Gas as there was soot at the bottom of the boiler and the owner was complaining the boiler  was making a smell. The boiler had been serviced some time back in another millennium 1993 was the last date filled in. This boiler could have killed the occupants, their saving grace was the open plan of their house along with oversized air vents.

I spent three and a half hours working on this boiler to put it back in working order and removed half a bucket of soot that had blocked the heat exchanger. The pilot had been made over sized so had to be replaced.
