My Car door and the pics
This is how the door and handle should look I think
Looks ok from this distance, question is this the distance you think your engineer viewed the car from? only slight rectification work needed. D'oHThis web page was directed at the insurance company after they had instructed the original loss adjuster to re-look at the car, who reported back saying "its acceptable in today's standards, but minor rectification is needed"
| This is what your
agents have done to my car, and this work has been passed as completed and
returned to me the customer! Moreover, the small scratches to the inside,
that have not been addressed and made good, the fitting of the sunblind with
only one fixing.
Please note the complaint re the sunblind and the marks on the cill, if they had been the only problem, I would have been dissatisfied with work and moaned to other people, but I would not have complained. Oh and the extra scratch/knock on the front wing which is very light. This was pointed out to the driver when he dropped the car off, when he picked the car up I pointed out to him all the marks that I was aware of so this extra mark was NOT on the wing when he took the car away. Now we have a report from the last independent engineer who states, it was the garage that wanted to repair the car door rather than replace the door skin, and not his instructions. But when I spoke to the garage works manager he confirmed to me that it was the insurance engineer who insisted the car be repaired, so he could not do what I requested ie: in the event the insurance company insist on a repair, please phone me as I do not want to waste your time or mine. Well the time has been totally wasted. The insurance company have instructed a second independent engineer who is booked to view the car Monday 23rd July 2001 watch this space for sanity to prevail or more of the same. The car went back to the agents and all the work was done professionally, along with the near side door mirror that I had scratched on the wall. Now wouldn't it be nice if this had been done in the first place. You may ask what insurance company are you with now, the same one I think? The insurance Company: Eagle
Star ref: MC01048794 Compensation paid: £200.00
